Set in the highland region of northern Australia on the outskirts of Cairns, the Atherton Tablelands unfold in a diverse mixture of landscapes. Here, you can see a collection of rainforests and wetlands home to native bird species and fascinating wildlife, like tree kangaroos and cute wallabies. The region is home to the famous Waterfalls Circuit, which is a 17km long driving loop that takes in several picturesque waterfalls in the region. As well as waterfalls and an eclectic collection of scenery, the Atherton Tablelands is also home to some stunning viewpoints. Crawfords Lookout is one of the best vantage points in the area. When you get to the lookout point, you can pull over and soak in the breath-taking panoramas. Position yourself so you can see between the trees, looking right down onto the Johnstone River. Latitude: 17°36'43.43"S Longitude: 145°47'39.53"E

Crawfords Lookout is one of the best vantage points in the area. It looks out over the point where the Colo River and the Capertree Rivers meet, spreading from east to west across the pretty scenery of the Wollemi National Park.
..
???

Crawford's Lookout looks out over Wooroonooran NP ??

Colo / Capertree Rivers junction is in Wollemi NP, but that of course is in central east NSW Great Dividing Range region.

Hope to get up to the FNQ region sometime in the coming few years, have to bag Bartle Frere and Bellenden Kerr sometime.

Nice flight too.

My father's name was Cairns. He did however change it due to problems encountered during prohibition. Enjoyed the video. Very nice.

Interesting name, never heard of it as a christian name before, kinda neat name.
Looked it up, as a surname it has Scottish Gaelic origins.
Was Cairns some sort of alcohol over there in the US in that era ?
