Thanks for the response. Is there a way I can get these logs?DAT flight logs are stored on all DJI drones. You won't be able to read them since they cannot be decrypted.
What would you do with them even if you could get them? Thanks for the response. Is there a way I can get these logs?
If you have any photos shot with the drone, the metadata incorporated in each image file contains GPS location and altitude data for the drone as well as date and time.Need them to verify location and time for a Guiness world record attempt climbing mountains in South America!

However the altitude data is derived from atmospheric pressure and DJI's algorithm assumes standard temperature and pressure.
Because of this it's accuracy varies by +/- 200 metres with changes in local atmospheric pressure.
Any altitude data that could be in the drone .dat files (that you won't be able to decrypt) would be from the same source and have the same inaccuracy.
Similar data would be included with video files if you had subtitles enabled. As for altitude measurements, the accuracy isn’t important in this case
You should be able to get the date and time from the flight log file using DJI Assistant. However, all of the location data is encrypted, so you won't be able to extract any of that data.Need them to verify location and time for a Guiness world record attempt climbing mountains in South America!
Your only remaining chance is through your "dead" controller. How is it dead? The flight logs should still be retrievable from a dead controller. If you cannot figure out how to do so yourself, you could do so through a data recovery service, just like from a dead computer or crashed hard drive. Might be costly, though, depending upon the cause of "death."Good afternoon,
I have a Mavic 3 pro, and I very much need the flight logs showing gps location and altitude. My controller has died, and my DJI fly app doesn’t have all the logs (missing most from 2023 and 2024)
Can I use DJI assistant to extract these files?
Many thanks,
Charlie
Thanks. And from the pure video file I will be unable to get basic data such as elevation / lat / long? You should be able to get the date and time from the flight log file using DJI Assistant. However, all of the location data is encrypted, so you won't be able to extract any of that data.
Hey Meta4, did you see my other reply to your first comment? I deleted the SRT files that I needed… before I knew I might of needed them, oopsie.Similar data would be included with video files if you had subtitles enabled.
It's very unlikely that kind of data is stored in video files. And from the pure video file I will be unable to get basic data such as elevation / lat / long?
Sure about that? It's very unlikely that kind of data is stored in video files.
Are you showing us telemetry data from an SRT file?Sure about that?
The OP said he deleted the SRT files, then asked if he could still get the telemetry data from the video files.
Simple .... You are missing the fact that I missed his comment about deleting the SRT files. The OP said he deleted the SRT files, then asked if he could still get the telemetry data from the video files.
What am I missing?
The info I included could assist anyone else who was wanting to find the same data.Or how is your question adding to the discussion?
Don't you need to actually have one of their reps present to witness the attempt at great expense when you want one of those?Need them to verify location and time for a Guiness world record attempt climbing mountains in South America!
Even if you could get DJI to read those for you the logs rotate, it'll only hold the last few flights so unless you barely flew since they're probably long gone. Thanks for the response. Is there a way I can get these logs?
