DRONES FLYING OVER NEW JERSEY

If these things were alien or if they wanted to be secret, they would not have flashing lights going off all over them. Just think about that for a moment.
We've taken it one step further based on what has been observed and reported. They want to be seen but they don't want to be caught so they turn off their lights as soon as anyone gets near them. Still doesn't make sense but that is what is being reported.

Honestly you can't scare one half of the public if you flying around in the dark under-cover; that doesn't work. Plus you can't fool the other half of the pubic into thinking you're not a drone but a manned aircraft unless you switch on the navigation flashing lights. Some people see those red, green, and white lights and automatically assume it's a manned aircraft. Either way, the plan is working; I'm assuming better than expected. Probably wasn't meant to go this way but all of a sudden it took off spectacularly. Pretty sure some people are absolutely beside themselves.

Right so they make no effort to fly secretly but the feds say they do not know what they are or where they come from. At same time they assure us there is no risk or threat to the public. Those statements cannot be reconciled.

There's a difference between "not knowing" what something is and "not saying" what something is.

I guarantee there are many government officials who know EXACTLY what these are.
One can argue and throw out all the conspiracy theories they want but I'm not wrong.

Yes, you are correct. But how do you reconcile we do not know what they are or where they come from with but do not worry, there is no threat and no risk to public safety? I submit they cannot be reconciled and why we now know there is deception on massive scale.

We don't.
That's the nature of our system.

But it doesn't mean it's nefarious.

If it is mass hysteria, then its been expertly created and stoked by agents and contractors of the federal government.

You not only overestimate the capabilities of the military intelligence, you vastly underestimate the stupidity/gullibility of the general public.

The arrests have begun. Don't have any concrete facts to comment on. Only thing I said earlier is if you are honest and just make a mistake or doing something pretty harmless or careless, they will track you down with all their resources (at least two dozen officers, agents, and troopers), capture you using force, seize everything you own, and punish you hard in multiple jurisdictions with at least a dozen different felony charges. "Education" is not an option on the table. They don't need fancy drone detection equipment, they don't need any "new laws" their hands are certainly *not* tied, their FAA database works just fine....when it's used against YOU. Those 2 guys are cooked; they're going to be hurting. You would think they landed a drone on an active runway. They will be made examples of.

"Due to the "serious risks posed by the drone's proximity" to the airport's airspace, Boston police coordinated with Homeland Security, Massachusetts State Police, the Joint Terrorism Task Force, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and Logan Airport Air Traffic Control to address the situation."

If you are a criminal and you are nefarious and up to no good, their hands are tied, we don't know who's doing this, we can't find anybody flying over our military bases, flying at 2000 feet AGL, harassing out helicopters, etc. It looks like a drone but maybe not. The answer for them is "we don't know what is going on" and the answer for you is an arrest warrant when they raid your home.

Sounds like this might be the new angle. Stir everything up with drones and then start cracking down on the ordinary people who come out to play who cross the line in the name of "taking care of the nefarious activities of late." Make it seem like WE are the real problem. But I thought there were no drones; only manned aircraft?

Follow up story with some supporting details and indications that action is already being taken in advance of any changes to the laws. There's no way to avoid tying these menu to the larger situation regardless the facts; inferences have already been made, you can tell the way the situation is being framed.

The big picture: Mayorkas said there's "no question" drones are being spotted and that the federal government has deployed resources to assist New Jersey State Police.

  • "We know of no foreign involvement with respect to the sightings in the northeast," Mayorkas said on ABC News' "This Week."
  • "If we identify any foreign involvement or criminal activity, we will communicate with the American public accordingly," he said.
Sure they will, just like they share UFO disclosure's with the public.
Mum's the word people.

I am surprised that an experienced FPV pilot has not taken a challenge to fly near one of these and get photos of the actual drones being spotted. They would have the range and ability. The latest articles I've seen is when a police helicopter tries to get close, the lights go off and they disappear. An experienced FPV pilot would probably have a better chance at getting a view of one of them with their speed and agility. Not saying it would be legal, but they would have a better chance than the police chopper. Maybe they should team up with some higher caliber FPV pilots to get the job done with coordination with the police.
Being they have been sighted close to my location I have my DJI Avata ready to fly with the searchlight on top and mirrorless camera with the 350 400 mm lens.(Would get permission from authorities of course)

These Drone sighting stories are designed to create more restrictions for us Dronies. You have a mini so unless you use the extra time batteries that push your drone over the 250 limit you still have plenty of time to enjoy your Drone in the future . If you own a Mavic I would tell you to take the pics and videos of the places you would like too NOW. The FRIA's and AMA fields in your area may not have great subjects to photograph and if you own a heavier drone thats is the only place you will be allowed to fly it. Unless you have a part 107 cert. and then you will probably need some sort of paperwork. while some will say that this cannot happen I will tell you that stories of Lights in the Sky scaring the populous is quickly taking us in that direction! and wouldnt you know it thats what the government wants to do with us anyway.

This is demonstrating a ridiculous level of paranoia, completely free of any supporting facts.
Yet you state it with such certainty?
This is what mass hysteria is about.

Thanks for leaving out the context. I do my best to clarify so that everybody (not just a few of the people) understand where I am coming from. I said "observed" and "reported" so you know exactly where the "certainty" comes from. I honestly don't know a lot for sure of what's happening on the ground but I do know one thing I am certain about: "The freedom we've experienced in the recreational drone community is about to come to a screeching halt."

I honestly don't know a lot for sure of what's happening on the ground but I do know one thing I am certain about: "The freedom we've experienced in the recreational drone community is about to come to a screeching halt."
And that's the irrational hysteria I was pointing out.
You are so certain of things that haven't happened, of which there is no evidence and aren't going to happen.

People are notoriously bad at determining the altitude, size, and speed of airborne object from the ground. Even professional aviators are notoriously bad at it. From a distance and especially at night fixed wing man, aircraft, and helicopters can look exactly like a drone.

I just watched a video of some guy on the news saying he has been seeing a drone the size of an SUV, looks like a plane, had a booming jet engine, but swore it wasn’t a plane because it was moving too fast to be a plane. The guy was concerned because this was near a military airbase. The news people were just like “wow that’s really concerning. We need to get our government and the military to on this!”

The news segment then cuts to the local Police Department sending up their drones to investigate. I mean, is it not ridiculous to anybody but me? Clearly, the first guy saw a manned aircraft, probably a fighter jet, and then the authorities put up their drones “to investigate” then people start seeing the police drones and wondering what the hell those are so then regular people start sending up their drones to investigate, as somebody in this thread suggested people do, and then the next thing you know, people think we’re getting invaded by Iran.

I mean, it’s so obvious to me that I can’t understand how I’m the only one who has figured this out.

It has happened before. If you flew RC airplanes you would know and you would also be able to sit back and watch this whole debate play out again! this time with alot more drama tho! See you at the AMA airfield, Dont forget your card!.
