Training by DSAR on drone search/rescue techniques is currently on hold because of COVID19. Provided the pandemic eases up, we are tentatively looking at conducting training again in the late Fall (once again) in beautiful Mentone AL, just outside Chattanooga TN. Charlie mentioned that he has a couple of other spots that would be interesting to fly that are close to where we trained last year, and one is a "castle" he thinks he could probably get access to. In addition to practical instruction and new scenarios for all participants to fly, we are also tentatively planning on showcasing LOC8 software. Look for further announcements towards the end of summer or early Fall.
Once again, training will be limited to the first 20 pilots to sign up. A thermal (FLIR) camera is not required. You do NOT have to be 107 certified to participate in the training (but you must be 107 certified to conduct real-world SAR operations.)
