I've seen praise here for KWave,a Korean dealer selling Mavic 4 pro units. Will I be charged customs fees upon entry into USA?I understand there is no warranty service available and no care refresh, correct?

Simple answer is maybe. So far no one here has reported paying any fees. Grab a beer or 2 and read:
1st beer.
2nd beer.

Agreed, we don't know for sure because August 1, 2025 is a new day and trade deals and tariffs rates are changing but that doesn't necessarily mean any immediate changes on the ground or what we see at the borders. We're back to day 1 where it's wait and see and who among us is the bravest to see what happens by placing an order and taking that risk. We have a couple of folks with shipments in progress so stay tuned.

Not sure that the August 1 deadline is relevant to these Korean eBay sellers. They are avoiding customs altogether, including the 10% tariff that was in place before August 1. Whether their underground railroad of shipping subterfuge continues to elude the scrutiny of US Customs with fraudulent Customs Declaration Forms remains to be seen. So far, they are getting away with it, to our mutual benefit.

Warranty and Care Refresh service available only if the drone is shipped to DJI and returned via the country where it was purchased - South Korea.

Thanks. How does DJI ship back to me via Korea?
Don't have any direct experience with this but it is likely DJI will not accept an international shipment for warranty purposes. Imagine if they had to accept packages from all over the world. Instead (don't quote me on this) the package has to arrive from in-country and the return package can only be sent to an address in the same country. DJI Care might be a little different in that they can probably work with you to facilitate (or ok it) getting the drone to the proper regional location but I still don't believe they will return a "repaired" drone outside the region. This is true for drones where there is no international warranty but DJI Care for cameras may have an international component. The key to remember is DJI policies are often not as rigid and final as the dishonest crooks you deal with in the consumer camera world. DJI has been known to grant exceptions.

If anyone is concerned with the warranty of their new shiny expensive toy, chose a solid reputable credit card provider who's flexible and partial to their good customers or "Cardholders" ;) who actually can work with you to handle bona fide warranty concerns. They have worldwide channels and are very familiar with this "limitation" that has plagued the world of electronics for decades, long before drones came along. Check your credit card agreement for more details.

I bought my M4P/RC2 Pro out of Korea on eBay and had it in FOUR days! FEDEX brought it through Memphis hub and it blew right through Customs there. I took it to State Farm and insured it for $75/year. If it goes down, I'm covered. I've been flying it for about 10 days now and it is head and shoulders above everything I have flown so far. **** near bullet proof if you have any experience. I don't shoot vertical, so I couldn't care less about the gimble range issue. Other than that, it is absolutely a dream to fly. Great range, even in urban areas and has ADS-B which alerted me of an aircraft (low flying helo) approaching at my altitude. Pop-up map with his location, direction of flight, altitude and my location and altitude. I got about 30 seconds of warning! Plenty of time to drop 100' near the bridge I was flying and that was pretty cool I had NO idea this would have ADS-B, but it does! LOVE this thing! Got it for about $1K lower than Adorama or B&H. Bought it with the RC2 Pro which I can't say enough good things about! And I LOVE that I can charge three batteries in about 90 minutes. I got a small power inverter for the car to charge while traveling between launch locations. I still have a Mini 4 Pro and Avata 2 for other types of flying and convenience. If you can afford it, get one and don't look back! You'll be glad you did! :)

Awesome, you should add your experience to this thread and in particular, which Korean seller because that is helpful to anyone looking to still buy from eBay:

The latter. Mine arrived completely unopened and was a breeze to register. NO PROBLEM! I got mine here:

They were all over it in short order! Tracking number same day. Pick-up the very next morning. Went through Alaska and down to Memphis, where it cleared through Customs with NO stops! Flight to FL and I had it in four days from the time I punched send to purchase! Tracked the entire way. These folks know that they're doing! Hopefully they've gotten some more in! :)

Obstacle avoidance and RID, yes. ADS-B, no.
EDIT - The Airsense feature does read ADS-B broadcasts. That's been included on previous DJI models, not new on the Mavic 4 Pro. It does not transmit ADS-B.

I didn't think so either . . . until I got the notification. A pop-up map showing the aircraft, altitude, direction and my location and altitude with a verbal warning saying "Warning, aircraft at same altitude approaching" When I turned and saw the aircraft (before even hearing it) the helo was about 1/4 to 1/3 mile away. THAT is NOT triggered by collision avoidance, and I am under no impression that remote ID will warn of other aircraft. DJI has equipped ADS-B on some of it's newer Enterprise drones, and now apparently has incorporated it (unannounced) into the higher end consumer Mavic 4 Pro. I have the RC 2 Pro, and I don't know if it works with the RC 2. I was as surprised as anyone at this! According to MS Copilot:

Does Mavic 4 Pro have ADS-B? Yes, the DJI Mavic 4 Pro is equipped with ADS-B In via DJI's AirSense technology.
✈️ What ADS-B In Does
  • Receives signals from nearby aircraft equipped with ADS-B Out transmitters.
  • Displays real-time alerts in the DJI Fly app or RC Pro 2 screen.
  • Helps pilots avoid manned aircraft by improving situational awareness.

🧠 Key Notes

  • ADS-B In only: The drone does not broadcast its own location (no ADS-B Out).
  • Works with signals from 1090ES and UAT transmitters.
  • Alerts are visual and auditory, but the drone won’t autonomously change course.
  • Most effective in open airspace with minimal obstructions.
This feature is especially valuable for long-range flights, urban cinematography, and any scenario where manned aircraft may be nearby.

Yes, recent DJI drone models have included the Airsense feature, which reads ADS-B broadcasts. That's not new with the Mavic 4 Pro, though.

I got my Creator Combo kit from Adorama back in June but ordered all my spare batteries from this guy, simply mind boggling shipping and handling speeds.

I just went ahead and bought the basic M4P kit from him to have as a backup so time to sell my spare RC2.
