Exposure changes when switching between video and stills

I can’t seem to figure out why I’m getting exposure changes when switching between videos and stills. When I start the video I roll the exposure wheel to get the proper exposure, then when I stop the video to snap a few stills, the exposure is off. Sometimes worse than others others, some times almost unnoticeable. Switching from stills back to videos is the same problem. Thoughts?

If you're shooting manual exposure, the 2 may be independent of each other. Turn on histogram and check your exposure on it before you click the shutter.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I usually shoot in manual exposure but I thought the exposure would stay locked when switching between video and still...
