I would never buy a second hand drone unless i knew the person i was buying it off and trusted them.
We may treat our batteries like they cost $1000 each as we want them to last as long as they can but you don't know how this person has treat them

Report this too the staff the people that run this forum will make sure the seller doesnt do it again on this site by banning them. Seems they take offense when their members get ripped off.

Hello on this subject.
i have brought some used drones. be careful. al always put budget on getting the repaired if need be.
what i found is on vinted. some ridiculous prices - cheap- and there all fake.
literally trying to sell my mini 3 pro and someone had the same photos as me £300 cheaper. MAN why.
Some people desperate

Buyers aren't exactly desperate but the market is shrinking and supplies are limited. There will always be a ton of used drones for sale but not always new ones, especially here in the US. The longer we keep our drones the more likely they get sold as used. I tend to give away my older drones but as prices continue to rise, selling is quickly becoming an option. Scammers realize this so they will blend in with the crowd and seek out the victims, those who are looking for a deal but unaware of the latest "technical" tricks. Most victims end up saying "how did they do that?" which is why we should publish a quick primer on what to look out for when buying a used drone, not only just the quality and the binding but also the latest fraudulent payment and shipping methods being employed. Lucky for us who want to buy from the drone aftermarket, there are reputable resellers and refurb houses that sell used drones at reasonable prices which makes dealing with private individuals a non-starter unless you are on a community forum you can trust.

Can you name one or two reliable or reputable dealers and refurb houses for me? I think we could all use these names when our time comes to buy or sell.

I don't have experience with all of them but on eBay, Amazon, you should be able to rely on these sellers whether it's new or used drones in my opinion:

dronesuperstore (camrise)
adorama
beach camera
focus camera

I guess you can call them places I would buy a drone (when and if they have one) from without having to do a ton of research or asking around to see if they are legit. Again, not endorsing these but I've heard ok feedback about them. They may or may not have same or similar names on different platforms and have various affiliations with DJI.

Ultimately, there are approved vendors by this forum that you can take a look at as well.
