In an act of pure genius, I backed my Mavic into a tree two weeks ago, luckily nobody was injured as it made its way indelicately to the ground.

Despite falling through a tree from around 100 ft, the only permanent damage was a snapped rear motor arm. I was able to purchase the motor arm through Amazon for $50, and use iRepair MD's replacement video as a guide to get in into and repair the damage.

Also, crucially, I've got a friend who works with electronics every day and I left the soldering to him, though honestly it was a very straightforward solder job.

After an hour of work, I was up and flying again. There was a slight drift to the camera, so I landed and calibrated the gimbal and it was good to go.

The moral: these things are made to be repaired. I've been inside much more difficult electronics and DJI did a great job putting it together so it can be fixed.
