I was just there last Saturday and the Park Rangers said don't even think about flying a drone here or you will get a summons . . . Needless to say I was very disappointed.

Hmmm...I'm surprised since I've seen this guys videos and got the impression he launches from there on a regular basis with no issue. According to the NYC Parks website you can fly there but maybe it's only in certain locations in the park...

You are allowed to fly in the model aircraft field, it's a bit east of those landmarks.

Yeah - I think your referring to the flying field a mile away. I think that is run by a local club. It doesn't look to me like he launched from that field a mile away and had the professionalism to fly all around the exhibits via his iPhone or tablet. He had to be right there flying. Also if you note in the video it is not like it is early in the morning as the sun comes up because I see a lot of people on the ground walking around.
