Correct, I could set the max height to 500 m, after agreeing to the "DJI threat" about legal flight.

No. There are many objects below 400' AGL marked on sectional charts.

After the latest firmware update, it's not possible to change the max altitude without agreeing that "from now on you are flying illegally" and that "this adjustment will void your DJI warranty and insurance". That's the message I got when I tried to change the settings and got very frustrated. I am currently based in Hong Kong and wonder if this is a local restriction...

I am in the US and received the same messages if I attempted to set it for over 400 ft.
