I was thinking exactly the same thing. One person breaking the rules makes the ones of us that follow the rules look bad to people who already think we just have drones to peek in peoples windows.

As a hobbyist I am legal to fly at night without a waiver. Please don’t spread misinformation.

You can fly at night as a hobbyist.

And how can you maintain VLOS at night? Yes the drone has lights, but not visibile past at most a few hundred feet.
