Guys
Previous flight a couple of days ago was uneventful. Flying over a beach but asking off and landing on a 6 feet square plastic sheet.
Today I went to fly but a motor felt lumpy or gritty, not smooth. I looked inside and found two tiny bits of clear plastic or glass, and one even smaller piece. I removed the them and motor feels smooth again.
So my question is, are there any clear plastic components under the coils or is this simply a bit of beach debris that has blown up?
Any comments appreciated.
Will try and add a picture...

There may be some form of glue product used in the motors to attach the magnets but I don’t think, based on the picture, that what you have came with the aircraft. I have always avoided (like the plague) the beach sand type flying areas for the reason you are dealing with.

We noticed on the Mavic 2 that the props are very loose and the engine bays do collect pebbles , sand , grit and might recommend you get Mavic Wet Suit that will really protect the Mavic from such debris as both the vents and the props have protective covers on them among other protections.

If you do fly over the beach where blowing debris is a factor the Wet Suit is a great option.

Definitely foreign is that body! ...
This is the sort of thing you should see if you were to take a Mavic motor apart ...

All of the above is certainly worth reading.
A more reasonable solution to the foreign object issue will be to just stay away from dirty launch areas.

Where do you store your Mavic while not in use and what do you use to transport it?
Those remind me of bits of that Silica gel stuff.
It comes from the little sachets that sometimes comes inside of things like rucksacks and leather bags etc. (presumably to protect the materials from moisture).
Any possibility an unseen sachet in one of your Mavic storage items could have ruptured unknowingly?

Wow... exactly right, I read your comment and checked. Found a split sachet in my bag. ...well done you. ?

That looks like debris. I would think it would be difficult to have picked that up while flying because if it was embedded in the motor, you'd have problems. So I am guessing that the plastic got into the motors during transport.

I was very worried about getting stuff in the motors, and also worried about things hitting the propeller shaft sideways and possibly distorting or bending it. So, I 3D printed some motor covers/protectors.

This picture shows some of the protective devices I've created for my Mavic 2 Pro:

I especially like the 3-D printed sunshade! Those 3D printers getting pretty sophisticated- the gorilla tape looks REAL LOL!

Bruce: I sure wish some outfit would make those spindle covers for sale. After reading this thread, I'm convinced that the same thing could happen to my M2 while in my backpack just as it did for the OP. Found the preferred batt covers on Amazonia but no spindle covers. Well done, BTW!

Good detective work Mr MavicNovice ... Yes - so obvious when you point that out ...

I got one that warning after being swarmed by bees.

I reccomend Keyboard Dust Remover

How you clean the engine is up to you :P
