At first, I though that the zoom feature, one finger swipe forward, zooms only the goggles image as an aid for getting a better focus.
To my surprise, it also zooms the recorded camera video. I did not expect this. I though the zoom feature was just an aid for focusing but did not change the recorded video image, which it does.
Is the recorded video cropped to obtain the zoomed image? So if I am shooting 1920x1080 and zoom one step, the resolution of the recorded video is half 1920x1080 or 960 x 540?

It is reframed video but output is still 1080, you're basically looking at the center of the 4K sensor instead of taking the whole area and downsizing it.

It's really a digital zoom, same feature that's been available from the app/controller forever. Not a focusing aid.

Thanks, this is what I figured was happening. Crop the sensor and then resample up to 1080.
