So I'm here in Vietnam at the Fairy Stream in Mui Ne. Put up the drone to have it follow us through the stream above head.

Everything going fine, home point was set, deactivated downward sensors, even switched RTH to Hover so it would go back away from us through trees etc. Anyhow get the low battery warning so I start reeling it in. Then get the 10 second warning it'll RTH. Right when it initiates the RTH I'm able to grab it. Does it's regular motor boost to go up even tho the sensors are off. Holding down on the altitude stick isn't landing it. I also cancel the RTH via phone UI still fighting my grip but I'm not letting go cause it's sure to hit something. Have a buddy with me so we even do the emergency landing holding sticks inwards and outwards down. Nothing at all still fighting my grip. I then try to turn the battery off via pressing the button to no avail. After about 2 mins of fighting. I pull it down and reach over and take the battery out.

During the whole fiasco my friend mention there was a battery over discharge warning that popped up.

I looked at the battery specs before packing it up and temp was well over 60C. Also the rotors were extremely hot to the touch almost near burning.

Haven't put it up again since it literally just happened 15 mins ago, but was just wondering if there was a preflight check list I can do before putting it up again. I'm still in the middle of a trip and not getting back to the States for another couple of weeks so contacting DJI is not an option at the moment.

Any thoughts?

Correction I don't think downwards sensors were deactivated since they need to be on for active track

You can upload the flight log from the Mavic. They're huge DAT files. If I could take a look, I can see if anything was out of the ordinary.

What's the easiest way to get the DAT files? Is it something I can do from the GO4 app?

I imagine everything is fine unless you get a warning message once powered up.

Sounds pretty wild. I would avoid using so much battery on risky flights. Save enough to pilot the craft home without automation kicking in. It seems to be a bit unpredictable.

I'm a bit stumped.. how did you take the battery out completely while the rotors are still spinning?
