It's no worse than an automobile manufacturer stating in the specs for a model that its top speed is 130 mph.

I agree with you that it's all to easy for someone to purchase a drone and immediately operate it dangerously without having any idea of good practice or regulations. Or common sense, for that matter.

Thats true but using your analogy , if I'm buying a performance car that can do 0 - 60 in under 3 seconds and tops out at 200mph its only obvious at some stage im gonna break the speed limit somewhere ?

There's no accounting for the actions of someone willing to spend $250,000 or more for an automobile of any kind. I'd hate to speculate.
