Just want to give a heads up for a problem I encountered this weekend.
So let’s say you purchase the very best protection you can for your drone or at least what I think should be good protection. You load your drone in the back of your jeep that doesn’t have a top for an eight hour trip in the mountains in the snow and the mud. You put the jeep back on the trailer, you stow the drone in your truck and you go home.
The next morning you start unloading things and you notice a little hole on the top of the GPC case that shouldn’t be there. You open the case to find your drone covered in moisture along with your smart controller. We’ll see how my drying out project goes.
The moral of the story is you should all check the vent assembly on your GPC case. My vent came apart due to the vibrations and left my case vented to the atmosphere, the snow, the mud and the grime. It’s only “IP67” rated, if it’s still in one piece. I’ll be installing mine with some silicone on the threads to keep it from vibrating loose again.
