Possible there is a piece of metal under the surface you cannot see. Try moving to another area of yard. Do a Compass and IMU calibration.

I'm pretty convinced there's something buried out there or very close by. It's an RF dead zone. Cell signal and Wifi signal are also very low in comparison to just 20 feet away.
