I have been flying drones for about 10 years and started with a DJI Phantom 1 and now fly with a DJI Mavic 3 Cine Pro. I have had my FAA Part 107 for about 8 years now and have shot a lot of commercial jobs - mostly corporate videos and some real estate. Things have changed a lot over the years!!! I am hoping that we, as a community, can start charging what we are worth for drone jobs. I see a lot of beginners undervaluing their skill set and not charging enough which drags down rates for everyone. Consider the cost of your drone, the hours of experience you have, your FAA Part 107, your insurance, time to shoot and do any post, etc and then charge accordingly. Everyone will have a different rate based on their location, experience, etc but I am seeing a lot of postings on job sites that make me want to cry.

Hi, scope1969, and welcome to our forum, from Hauptmann, in Hurst, TX!

Though I live in Texas, I do most of my droning in the SF Bay Area where one of our sons (also a droner) lives. We don't do commercial work, but we posted our first video, (A Day in San Francisco) and got two offers--one from Canada, and one from Korea.. After I got my part 107 license we got another (or rather my son did) for about $500 which he accepted. They were only interested in a small cut from the video, but WOW! For us it wasn't the money, but the bragging rights!

You might just try concentrating on making and posting good vids of the SF area, and see what happens. Good luck!
