Hi, i've been waiting for GPS lock and have >=10 satellites but it often lands ~15 feet off center. See this video. Around minute 1:09 you'll see me take over to center it on the mat.

its probably like the M2P was when it was first released ,it did not have the precision RTH facility available until a firmware update was introduced ,i dont own a MA2, so that is purely my take on your question you should be getting more than 10 sats locked, and you need to wait till you get the message telling you that the homepoint has been updated please check it on the map before you take off
I suspect I found the issue. Just noticed in the manual you need to ascend 7m vertically. I probably have not been doing that
This is correct. Check around 0:30 in this video: Basically you have to let it hover at around 7m and let it get a visual read on the area/terrain for a precision landing.

I would look closely at the effect the high tension power lines have on the GPS lock. Go to another field and try again.

The MA2's onboard GPS receiver (like most civilian GPS receivers) is only accurate to within a couple meters. The on board vision and infrared sensors, on the other hand, are very accurate - to within inches. On takeoff the MA2 must fly vertically to at least 7m prior to flying horizontally to allow the vision and infrared sensors to capture an image of takeoff terrain.
On the RTH flight the GPS will guide the drone to within a few meters and then(and assuming the 7m on takeoff) the vision and infrared sensors attempt to match the image and will guide it to within inches of the Home Point. If the MA2 isn't allowed to climb to the 7m first it will depend mostly on the GPS to navigate it to the HP - a much less accurate landing.
This is the theory but in my experience the MA2's Precision Landing capability is constantly very accurate (within inches).

I have found when I use my Landing Pad (Blue or Orange) when I do RTH my MA2 lands on the pad just about everytime. If I don't have a landing pad and land on the ground - it lands in the general area of take off but can be several feet to a couple of yards away from the actual take off point.
My suggestion, if you want precision landing to really work well, use your landing pad - At least in my experience, it really makes a difference.

I frequently take off in parking lots. I try to use the handicap parking sign on the pavement, much like the image of a landing pad. Seems to work much better than just than white lines.
