How do you wear your D.O.P. ?

I do not really like this stupid idea of DJI to connect a smartphone directly to the Osmo Pocket. Too sensitive are these connections, so I was looking for a more stable way to be able to carry these two devices on one hand. Here is my current, and very special variant for left-handers. Everything was put together from parts available on the market for Photo and Osmo Pocket:



Actually, it is already usable, and not too heavy to wear. But I would be very happy if you showed me how you have solved this or a similar problem.

Maybe later I design something universal in 3D for this purpose so that anyone interested can print it out. A printed plastic holder would be so much easier to carry than the version shown here by me.

I think it's really great that not only do you come up with a great invention but you also supply members with the items needed to build it themselves. Yes you could sell a lot of them, but you decided to allow people to buy ithe parts and assemble it for themselves.

I love to optimize existing things according to my ideas, at least to try.

But I'm just a poor jerk with no ability and courage to make something big out of it. I'm just not a businessman. So I give away many of my ideas.

Jeah fozzzy, cool and sturdy thing, very good for using with photo accessories. But it is a bit tricky to put the DOP in this holder, you always need two hands for it

Tbh I fitted a wrap to it last week, it looks like sh** but it slides in quite easily. I purely wanted it for hand holding with my Rode vidmic micro attatched....... if they ever release the adapter

I had not even looked at Thingiverse, but I suspected that designs already exist for the DOP

The design looks good, but at the moment seems only suitable for smartphones with USB TypeC and Lightning.

DJI Mimo runs very well on my old Samsung Galaxy S7edge with Micro USB, so I wanted a universal solution that is suitable for almost any smartphone.

However, Tingiverse and Youmagine are excellent sources of inspiration and problem solving.

Here is another way to safely carry the DOP and a smartphone with one hand.



This version is very stable and tiltable / fixable, suitable for right and left handers to wear comfortably, and to use either wireless or with cable.

Why to make it so complex? I took sketchup and printed a very very simple holder o´fo OSMO pocket joint with Sammsung A5 2016. No screws, just connect and move it in the holes.
Light weight and portable. Makes solid connection, all buttons reachable. btw. Samsung has Micro USB so there is a USB-C and Micro USB adapter between the Mobile and the standard OSMO USB-C.

I can provide the .slt file for 3D printer on request.

But it is the reason of this thread to find out how other DOP users have solved their specific problems, at least that was my wish. So it's really nice to see how you did it

My examples are basically not complicated, and very universal, so really easy to replicate, they are for those who have no ambitions regarding 3D printing.

These examples are for people who already own photo accessories, and maybe just need to buy a few extra parts. Everything consists of standard photo accessories, only the DOP holders shown in both examples are special.

In my examples almost every smartphone and every type of connection can be used. In addition, both devices can be adjusted in angle to each other, so that the user can customize it and better view / operate.

The biggest drawback for some may be the high total weight. All together is very stable and quite heavy, but still very wearable for my feelings ...
