Ive been doing tons of research on camera stuff mainly camera stuff that flys. Watching tons of vids.

What i noticed is pilots appear to possibly not know how to fly. Like they rely on the **** things being uncrashable.

Not all but alot of pilot's seem all jerky and lack orientation awareness muscle memory to actually fly. Its a good thing these quads have all the technologies built in to pickup where humans lack.

How many come from a real flying back ground planes or helis?

Its been 10ish years since i was in the flying hobby and so much is changed. Lazy now comes to mind.

Its just an observation and its been along time since ive flown so maybe ive lost my ability to fly aswell.

Many on this forum are simply photographers and will Never take the Drone off of a "mode", So they will never really learn to fly a Drone. In a mode you are simply directing the Drone where to fly with the remote you are not really flying it.
EDIT: I would say to these members that taking the time to learn and experiment with RATES will boost your flying abilities to new levels! a majority of people skip this part and its really the most important for anyone who flys RC.

A lot of the jerky video posted to YouTube etc. comes from people who are relatively new to drone use and haven't developed their skillset yet.

As already stated, most people use high quality camera quads as... cameras - something they move from one position to another to get the shot they're looking for (still photographers).

Others need to build specific coordination skills to handle that camera like a flying Steadicam to get each separate clip shot in the sequence they're going to build (videographers).

Then there are the FPV jocks who can fly a tiny quad around like a bat on cocaine and don't give a hoot about smooth video footage.

The built-in butter-smooth handling characteristics of a DJI camera drone don't guarantee stutter and twitch-free footage, but they certainly make it easier to achieve with practise.

When i was flying align nitro 600s(flybar) i was flying in all orientations. I did fly a fpv quad recently and it made my heart race i loved it.

I watched so many videos recently im watching ond and it pops in my head thus guy has no clue how to fly.

Rates and expo is how quick the servo or motor responds to stick movement. Kinda numbing the stick movement to smooth the movements.
Or you can go the other way and make movents react faster than stick movement.

On a side note im thinking about buying a mavic pro to play with till i can anchor down a newer bird.

Im pretty unsure about all these new eltronics, if i can get passed that scariness i am confident i can fly these things.

It's like buying a computer - to get the best out of it: you have to know what you're going to be using it for before you pull the dollar trigger, otherwise you'll end up with something that neither meets your needs nor your expectations.

It all depends on what you want to achieve by flying a drone. If you want still pictures or video: buy a camera drone like one of the Mini's, a Mavic or the Air2S. If you want to fling a screaming banshee around: buy a cinewhoop, Avata or DJI FPV.

I want the camera. I stand on a screaming 450 dirt bike for the adrenaline rush.
I also do alot of hiking snow shoeing snow bike horseback also jeeps etc. But my main squeeze is dirt bikes lately.

Wanting to capture this for when im to old to do it in real life. Or maybe just to broken like i am right now.

A Mavic (original and Mav.2) will get up to 45mph, follow you (within reason) and the gimbal will still give you stable, smooth, quality footage.

A DJI FPV will hammer along at 80+mph but it has to be physically flown: it isn't tricked out for cinematic shooting and the camera isn't great.

The mini's might be useful for hiking etc. but they are speed capped and fragile.

RATES ????😯
Do you wish that when you did something on the stick The Drone actually executed that movement instantly or "naturally"? Are you not so happy with the way your drone responds to your commands? WELL, The good folks at DJI setup your Drone and controller to be easy for everyone to get started BUT It was kinda like building a sports car and then turning it over to grandma to tune and adjust.
Here is a pretty good basic video.
I don't know why more don't look at these settings? Its similar to someone getting a new car and never adjusting the seat!

You want a Cinelog................ Trust me!

I'll let you in on the secret: Those actually are bats on cocaine. They're trained. Mine is named "Squeeky", and I use the DJI digital communication system to give him instructions while flying.

Ive done alot research and did see sticks are tuneable to each users wants.

This is the mavic i might get today. Ive been researching and wondering if it will fill my wants. And maybe even make it so i no longer want a air3s

This mavic will follow well? Say at 35-45mph through hilly terrian?
The Mavic 1 is for some reason one of the funnest to fly. I will caution you that the gimbals on the one are VERY VERY fragile!
I love my Mavic 1's tho. If you are just starting and you need to go "used" Drone model to start with....I would HIGHLY recommend looking at the AIR 2S.!!
