How to rollback Mavic firmware

I was able to use the DJI Assistant to roll back to 1.04.0100. From there I used DUMLdore to go back to 1.03.1000 and tested to make sure that I had no errors. After I was able to confirm that I didn't have any problems at 1.03.1000 I went directly back to 1.03.0400. Once I confirmed that 1.03.0400 was successful, I updated the hardware and then modified the controls. I chose 1.03.0400 because that was the most recent firmware that still allowed all of the controls I wanted.

Thank you Armando you did a great job and review of it!!I am amazed of what you where able to do! Do you think is also possible to go back to 1.04.0000 after the modific you have done in 1.03.0400?

Someone does know where I can see all the mod firmware differences?
When a Mavic is modded is possible to go back to all original factory settings?

Sorry if my questions look dumb but I am completly new on the Mavic and I would like to learn more about it.

Thank guys this community rock!

Armando, r u saying tat it is possible to rollback from 04.0100 straight to 03.1000 using dumldore?

I tot our birds r locked when in 04.0100. We have to unlock it using dumldore by downgrading to 04.0000 1st.
Only from there, we can downgrade to other lower version.

That was not my experience. I was able to go directly from .04.0100 to 1.03.1000

I haven’t tried to go back up in firmware versions, but I would be surprised if it was a problem because I can’t imagine DJI drawing a line in the sand and preventing owners that purchased their bird in August or September of 2017 to not be able to upgrade to the firmware released in January. Keep in mind that my mod was only necessary to allow the flight recorder to write to the missing as card. I think this was a hardware change to prevent users from going backwards, not forwards. If anyone is running 1.04.0200 on a Mavic purchased before August, please reply to confirm.

Hmm... Will try to follow ur path. Wish me luck.
I downgraded a friend's MP, from 4.0100 straight to 3.0700, I flashed it twice because the software still showed the 4.0100- in DJI. Ran dumldore again with the same firmware .700, didn't select the defeat mode the second go around. After that it showed up just fine I'm DJI.

armando - Thanks for taking the time to write up such a detailed explanation. Much appreciated :)

Quick question. Are you having any glitches or side effects? In the "Mavic Pro Platinum Firmware Rollback" thread a user named superjojo is doing the same as you. But he has reported a motor current error warning and a strange glitch while landing. User M Akbar Marwan reported simiar and also the GP@ LED on the back would sometimes turn yellow instead of green.

But they were both doing the mix and match FW method. Did you do the same or just pick and older FW, like 0.700, and stick with it?

How are your ESC's behaving themselves on an older firmware?

Hi
Had ESC motor current error. (03.0700 / 04.000 w.o 305/306 ) I then *downgraded the rc* to 03.900 and that seemed to fix the ESC motor current error ... Now - whether that fixes all problems of whether the bird is going to fly away at some point ... i don't know yet.

Just rolled back mavic pro using mac OS from 01.04.0000 to 01.03.0700. Will test soon to see how it performs.

Hi, and thanks for posting this. Every bit of info helps :)

Are you flying a Pro or a Platinum?

I’ve downgrade the mpp from 104.000 direct to 103.400 using antirollback method with success, done testing flyit outside, no error warning occurred

and then I remove the 305/306/905 modules from 104.200 again with antirollback until finish 100%, but the firmware still 103.400, this time my mpp battery somehow cannot be shutdown with led 2 and 3 always on (anyone has clue on this battery?)

Will try again the mix version (104.200+103.400) not using antirollback

No idea abt the battery LEDs.

When u were at 03.0400, ur MPP flew without error.

Did u try to fly in sport mode? My MPP was able to fly without error in normal mode but getting MOTOR CURRENT ERROR in sport mode while at 03.0400.

yess, no current motor error in all modes normal, atti and sport mode :)

the battery has been fix with reflash the firmware once again using higher firmware, but now I’m struggle to get back to 103.400, somehow it takea very long time to upload stage1.bin in dumldore

Hm

With which propellors are you flying then ?
when i try and downgrade below 4.000 i get a major gimbal shake woth the MPP propellors -- actually the whole AC is shaking already during takeoff..
The propellors seem fine . (and they are original mpp)

unfortunately when mix the firmware 3.400+4.200 that make the battery “hung” (yesterday) and today when flashing the firmware and now my mpp had an esc error, already try flash to 4.200 and all version but always failure at 44% :(

the firmware still stuck at 103.0400, cannot be downgrade or upgrade using dji assistant or dumldore (because of hung of update process using mix 104.200+103.400)

I've started noticing a "shake" on take off after downgrading, however mine seems to go away after a few moments of flight. Not sure why it starts, or stops, but I've noticed the same thing, but my "shake" goes away after a few movements of the aircraft.
What firmware are you running on the RC?
