If we are voting, I vote for burning both the tree and the drone with fire.

Because they clearly need a lesson about Who Is In Charge In The Backyard.

(I didn't know how serious I had to be here. I was initially going to suggest there was a hidden secret drone recovery mode, but I forgot what the up down up down a b a b thing was from the home video game way back...)

70 feet is a long way up. If he misses, hope he knows what lies behind the tree. Be interesting to plop a sandbag or whatnot into next door's poolside party...

Great suggestions, though my realistic advice: report it as a flyaway and get a new one. I once lost my drone high up in the canopy of a massive tree. No way to get it out. It’s lost. Get over it.
