I hate to admit it, but I had my first major drone crash recently. It hit hard enough to eject the battery (never found), bang up the front, shatter the camera glass, slightly scratch the left forward sensor glass, clip the props, and shatter the bubble. I'm afraid to risk a new battery to test it out as it may have shorts.

Despite the first picture, the arms are not bent. The gimbal seems fluid. The motors spin freely.

BTW... I was barnstorming mountain ridgelines way up high. I crashed it pretty good into a cliff, dropped 10-15 feet and tumbled. Here are the pictures:Mavic 1.jpg Mavic 4.jpg Mavic 5.jpg Mavic 6.jpg Mavic 7.jpg

Totally fine!

I've seen plenty of people peel the glass away and use it with no lens. That's just there to protect the camera lens.

The lens does have the excellent hardcoat multilayer reflection free coatings on it though, like regular camera lenses and some eye glasses.
Suppose you could just whack some similarly coated filters on instead, protection and filter qualities.
