Where in Japan? Was stationed in Misawa - up near Aomori (mid 90's). Wished drones were around back then for my ski / snowboarding in the mountains up there and coastal shots since we were right off the ocean up there.

Niseko, Hokkaido. In the mountains but only 30mins from the coast. Best of both worlds - ski and surf.
