Lost another drone

I think you may hold some sort of record. Including free replacements, what's the total number of drones you've crashed or lost? How long have you been flying?

That would be 8, including the two free replacements. I've been flying since June, 2017, when I bought my first drone, the first Mavic. I bought it because I watched a documentary on drones, and it looked pretty interesting. Wonder if I could find that documentary now. If I can, I will post it's name. After watching it, I started watching YouTube videos about drones, and decided on getting a DJI Mavic, which I think came out in fall of 2016. So I've been flying for over 8 years. That's how I've achieved such a high level of proficiency!

You would think by now you would have learned how to be proficient in not crashing what sounds like every drone you have ever owned. Or at least learned how to read and understand your flight logs to make your crashes make sense to you on your own. Maybe 'proficient' is the wrong word in this instance.

Eight drone losses in eight years is a record as far as I know, and quite a demonstration of something, but perhaps not proficiency.

It's pretty clear @jwilson has the financial resources for a drone loss to be nearly disposable, so taking these sorts of risks is no big deal.

I get it. I'm a risk-taker, got the "thrill gene". If I could afford it, I'd be much more agressive with my drones. The Avata was a dream come true, and I'm nearly wetting my undershorts waiting for the Avata 360.

I don't get being stupid and careless about it, though. I don't have that gene

I'm definitely not careless and stupid about it. I'm probably one of the best drone pilots on this forum.
