M2 Zoom for inspections

I have been wondering about using the 2 Zoom for this too. I am on the board of a small mutual insurance company, and I've suggested using a drone for roof inspections. Our inspectors wouldn't need it on every job, but it sure would be handy for roofs that are too high and/or steep to climb up onto safely. My main concern would be all of the glitches that I've experienced with my Mavic. I'm afraid the guys would just say "To heck with it" and leave it in the office.

Here's a quick example of the 4X zoom using 2X optical and 2X lossless digital. I was hovering at 300 feet, and was approximately 150 feet away from the building.

I have done several insurance inspections with my non-zoom drone. Google earth pic before the tornado. Drone pic, same place after the tornado

I didn't think it provides digital zoom for pictures, only video.

I know that it zooms for both pics and vids. Besides, what camera in the world does one, but not the other?

He's correct, optical zoom is for both yes, but digital is video only (since you can easily crop the still afterwards anyway, which does the same).

Yes I do. And yes he sent you pics at both ends of the optical zoom, and not a 3rd one at the end of digital zoom...

I requested 3 pics, as noted below. I got 3 pics?
One at standard no-zoom level
One at end of optical zoom
One at end of digital zoom

I just checked. In photo mode, zoom only goes to 48mm. If it had digital, it would go to 96mm.

It does have aspect modes 4:3 or 16:9.
All 4 combinations below.

I have a zoom. I use for roof inspections. It does not digital zoom for photos. Only optical for photos. If I need something closer, I screen shot the video.

Is anyone using their M2Z for inspections? If so, do you have a standard pic, and a zoom pic, from the same distance that you can post?

Here is a shot of a powerline component at 2X zoom from approximately 10 feet from the subject. I am not a photographer and just used auto settings just to get a ballpark idea on image quality.

What I would really like to see is that pic and a no zoom pic from the same hover location
