Good morning everyone! I'm new to the forum but have been stopping by for a couple of months begore now signing up. I do photography mainly, nothing commercial when it comes to maps. I'm actually a total noob for mapping.

On to the subject. DJI is not releasing the SDK for the consumer series of the Mavic 3 drones (3, Cine and Classic) any time soon and with them releasing the waypoints feature I got to work. I've officially mapped flights with DJI Flight Hub and UGCS and have flown them with no issues other than the one listed below.

I'm not sure if external videos are allowed here, some forums don't welcome them, so if they're not, I'm more than happy to post a how-to for you guys.

First video is for DJI Flight Hub-

So far I'm liking UGCS a lot more than Flight Hub especially since 90% if the mission can be done from the computer.
The only issue I'm having is Hover cannot be activated because if you do, the drone will face north (per the KMZ) and abort the mission. I'm looking at the code and will update once i can figure something out with this. At least for now, have fun mapping!

Thank you very much! That's what I've been looking for.

Btw, is UGCS free? I have only found a free trial.
Unfortunately it is not free. I’ve been looking for another software to replace it and one that’s budget friendly since I don’t do this for commercial purposes but for photography. What I’m looking at currently is Mission Planner which is free but I haven’t been able to export a successful flight plan yet

Seems like we had more or less the same experience then. UGCS seems to be the first solution to export to this format and allow grid planning. I want to use it for 3D models as a hobbyist.

Hey, I made a program that fixes the mission from ugcs and makes a mission specific for the Mavic 3 classic. It splits the mission into smaller pieces less than 200 (you can set it to whatever you want) and if you use your phone for the controller, it automatically uploads the files in batches, and you just run the missions. It's fairly automated. If anyone is interested let me know. I'm thinking about selling it.

I am interested. How did you automate the upload process, especially the rather cumbersome part where you need to create dummy missions beforehand?

I did three things. One is it detects if your phone's connected in regular storage mode 2 it a text if your phone has USB debugging enabled so you don't have to turn on storage mode. 3 if you have wireless debugging turned on, it'll copy the files over Wi-Fi. The thing to watch out for is it overwrites all your waypoint missions though.
You know the other thing it does is say you have three waypoint missions on your phone but the drone at most can do 200 waypoints in one go. So it splits that mission into six 200 point waypoint missions. It'll overwrite the three on your phone. Wait until you hit continue while you fly those missions and then overwrite the next batch with the last set of three.
Sorry I'm driving and using speech to text so punctuation isn't great. My apologies

Hello everyone, does anyone have used waypoints flight in AIR 3S? could you provide any tips for flight set up in other program than the RC screen?

I have the Air 3 (not S), but I think they may be very similar in the use of Waypoint flight.

The creation of a Waypoint mission using the RC screen is awful - very clumsy interface. In contrast, Litchi mission hub gives a nice, free easy-to-use interface. Unfortunately, neither the Air 3 or the Air 3S will allow Litchi software.

To overcome this, a three point strategy is needed:
1. design the mission using Litchi (Mission Hub - Litchi)
2. use Litchi Waypoint Mission to DJI Fly Waypoint Mission Converter to convert the Litchi mission to something you can load on your Mavic Air 3 remote controller. Test that mission by running it virtually in Google Earth.
3. transfer that waypoint mission to the RC in a place where the system will find it

I have now done this three times, and it works perfectly. However, it takes a little time to get it right. It is a job to do in advance at the home or office, not in the field.

This task becomes one step harder if you run MacOS (as I do) because getting the Mac to read the Air RC is quite hard work.

Contact me if you want a more detailed set of instructions.
