Mavic 4 not available to US !

It's one thing to not sell in US but then to not honor warranty if you get one elsewhere is CRAP.
It's always been DJI's policy not to honor warranty outside the country of purchase.
It's not something they just decided on for US customers.

As I said I understand that policy. I’ve been doing photography 40 yaars. But, in this case the product isn’t being sold in US???

Also most camera companies will hour gray market warranty if you buy in a foreign country while traveling For instance if I’m in Japan and buy a piece of Sony gear and come home to us they will honor warranty.

This just make me mad to no end.
Ive been waiting for the release of the Mavic4 creative a long time, since it was anounced. I have the money in hand for it, been saving since last December 2024 for it.
Now here comes all this political bs that is beyond the USA consumers control, trump hater or not it does not matter. I'm not going to gamble on a $5000 drone because of politics
So I bought a new USA made Dragonfly Commander about the same specs and price range of the mavic 4 with a DOD blue label for EMS use and USA support. and a 8.8lbs payload capacity. I don't know how its going to work out my parrot Ai is a pretty good drone , But way to lightweight for flying S&R in the mountains

I'm tired of playing these politic games I have no control over. I needed this new drone so I can send my Mavic3 in for over due service. But this crap is a game changer for me and I purchased something else. Better will be debatable
The way I see it is the only one DJI is hurting with these stupid delays is DJI themselves.
I am in Europe so available and plenty of tests coming out
One reputable tester stated the 4 is NOT as good as the Air3 / S in strong winds so will wait for more tests to see by how much
70% of my flying seems to be strong winds

I wouldn't hold your breath for them to get anything in for at least a couple months, if ever, that goes for a lot of products. I wouldn't even count on DJI being around much longer, unless someone buys them out and moves them out of China before they collapse.
DUDE !! DJI is a Global manufacturer of Stabalizers and Gimbals. Drones are just one of the many product they make.
DJI isnt going anywhere, Their Drone sales here will take a hit sure, but its not gonna break them in the least.!

It affects me as I do photography for a living but I also can’t stand this place and feel it is well deserved.

In the past 4 years I have traveled to and lived in another country for 1-2 months seeking out where to re-locate to as I create new work.

I applaud DJI for this move.
“ADORAMA” in NY has them in stock and selling with DJI care. B&H is also selling in US. Both have limited stock left as of this moment.

I would bet if you are a customer in good standing at B&H They would get you one.
But will DJI warranty it? Will it even launch, update firmware when you log in?

I suppose I might find out, I put in a pre-order at B&H for the creator kit and one spare battery this AM. At this point in my career, to heck with it, what’s an extra grand, lol!

I suspect that if DJI have decided not to sell it to America it'll be in the firmware that they can't take off in US territory, thereby rendering attempts to get them in from elsewhere somewhat futile, or at least a serious PITA to circumvent.
DJI wouldn't disable the Mavic 4 Pro on US soil. They probably support the idea of Americans buying their DJI Pro4 in other countries and flying back home with them, as a walk-around solution to the tarriff war's uncertainty.

Why not ? They disable them when your in a "No Fly Zone "
Because the US is not a no fly zone.
There's no prohibition against flying that particular drone model in the country.
DJI just isn't releasing it yet because of
  • The problem sorting out issues around what to charge for the drone because of uncertainty in government policies
  • Issues with CBP not letting some DJI deliveries into the country.
Neither is any reason for DJI to block a Mavic 4 pro from flying there.

The warranty issue is not unique to the USA or the Mavic 4 pro.
DJI will only honour warranty in the country of purchase.

If they are bought or stolen fraudulently ,they absolutely can be be disabled .
I am not saying DJI will do this , I'm saying they have the capability .
Yes , I have had experience with the warranty issue .Bought a drone in Malta ,whilst on holiday .I had a fault when I returned to Australia .I had to post it to my son in Malta to get it replaced .
