Mavic 4 Rumors

April 20th is on a Sunday,so that can't be it
Rumours suggest 20th April is announcement date with release in May.

Maybe the 20th is when the embargo for influencers is lifted with a Monday anouncement?

Who knows (?) but if sure feels close considering radio silence on a new Mavic for such a long time, then the last couple of months a flood of information (very likely DJI’s own leak's).

Oh it is getting close all right, and I have never looked forward to a new drone release as much as this one.

Is the classic a single ca.era version like the Mavic 3? If yes $2800 is an extremely steep price.
I presumed $2800 was for the pro version and expected a classic version to be cheaper and lighter than the heavy pro ?
Anyone any info on Classic differences

Dont expect a Classic right away... I believe the 3 Classic was released a full year after the Pro.

Yeah it seems to me the Classic models leverages the excess parts and anything left over from the Pro model in a low-cost easy to move drone package for those who don't need all the Pro bells and whistles.

I guess the Classic might have a chance to be under 900 grams.

They certainly wouldn't need that big globular gimbal assembly.

Would be nice if they can do just a 2-camera variant for under 900 grams, which is a key threshold in some countries for greater flight restrictions for UAS over that weight.

Possibly but isn’t the 25th June date related to an FCC listing rather than the DJI announcement.

Yes I do believe your right,

Could very well be,it seems like the rumors and photos are getting more frequent like it would be late in April and not all the way into June.

Latest DroneXL article shows some interesting new images of the different lenses on the Mavic 4 Pro.

FIRST DJI MAVIC 4 PRO SAMPLE PICTURES AND ZOOM TEST LEAKED ON TIKTOK

Complete speculation but are they just reusing the same sensors as the Mavic 3 as both zoomed views show D-Log M profile.

Always thought it a strange decision to allow main camera to shoot full D-Log to get maximum DR but then the other camera have to shoot in another profile?

A limitation of the smaller sensors limited DR?

I’m hoping for big improvements in the cameras and sensors on the Mavic 4 and this has me worried.

Will be looking with interest.

Doubt the wife would let me have one as I’ve only recently got the Air 3s.

TBH chuffed to bits to even have the Air 3s. Very capable drone, just misses variable aperture

Don't worry, the Air 3(S) are brilliant drones and offer the best price performance of all DJI drones.

There are some specific niche features missing like the variable aperture but this doesn't stop it capturing amazing footage. 90% of the Mavic package at 50% the cost.

The Mavic 3 Pro is $2200 so a $600 price increase represents 25% increase. So does that mean the $3900 Combo with RcPro from today will clock in at $4900 or well over $5k after taxes? Ouch, this feels like it is going to get expensive especially if you can reuse anything from previous version.

Hmm, looks like you will have to remove the sticks from the new RC Pro 2 controller to fold down the screen. I don't like to have to remove the sticks and re-install them every time I fly especially in cold weather. For me it won't matter anyway as I have no intention of upgrading.

That pro controller design looks err……. interesting?

Folding screen great but when folded, the screen is facing up and exposed?

This thing begs for a sun hood but no hint of one or any practical way to attach one. Lets hope DJI had the foresight to include some magnets down the edge of the screen so we can easily snap one on and we’ve just not seen photo’s of that accessory yet. 🫤

Much brighter but still punchy screen and better, more industry standard exposure tools rather than a crappy histogram and I’d forgive it of everything else.

As an older guy with aging eyesight, I prefer to use an iPad or Tripletek style monitor when flying. I hope DJI comes out with a controller without an integrated screen for the Mavic 4 series, then I could be tempted...
