Mavic 4 Rumors

Seeing the leaked pictures of the significantly beefed up cooling, it must be for sensor/processor cooling and news of the rumoured jump in internal storage must point to the Mavic 4 Pro shooting at least 6K (and 24MP stills).

The extra stop on the lenses should then make up for the extra resolution and we hopefully get the improved processing and more modern sensor design tech from the Air 3S giving gains in dynamic range making this drone potentially very a tasty upgrade.

Would be surprised if they did BSI or even stacked sensors.

But we'll see.

The thing is Micro 4/3 sensors seem stuck at 20 Mp. Olympus just introduced a new camera the other week and it's a 20 Mp Micro 4/3 stacked sensor.

Let’s hope its a super35 sensor then. :p

When I see Mavic’s being used on BBC nature programmes, it shows how almost industry standard the Mavic 3 Pro has become.

Here’s to dreaming.

Air 3 (3S) is a 12MP drone....... end of story.

It was never going to be a great photography drone with so little resolution however, unbelievably good for video.
It is suppose to do both equally, still photos and video. Not one being better than the other, some may not agree.
The Air 3S was suppose to be a minor but STILL an upgrade over the Air 3,but many are not seeing it.

Putting a 24mm equivalent camera, 60m in the air with only 12MP of resolving power is never going to result very detailed images.

Hasselblad pioneered multi-shot capture on their H series digital medium format cameras which made a massive difference compared to single shot. Lets hope that team were in charge of the development of the rumoured 100MP mode on the Mavic 4 camera.

True just do not want to see the name Quad Bayer anything in a high end drone.

Yeah what Apple, Google, Samsung and others do with high-end phones is take multiple shots and blend them together, not just for better HDR but also resolution.

They have more powerful processors in these phones which start at $500-600 and up and sophisticated software to do all this "computational photography." So despite smaller sensors and limited optics because of very thin devices, they produce images which punch well above their weight.

If DJI had that kind of engineering and software chops, they could make images from 1-inch and Micro 4/3 sensors look real good, almost make it appear like APS-C images at least.

They obviously can't put in processors as performant as those in a $600 or more phone.
