It's almost as if either your phone is not up to it or the Mavic is faulty because that sort of performance isn't normal. It's about what you'd expect if you were just using the phone WiFi and not the controller to fly the drone?
Have you tried a straightforward wireless connection to the drone without using the DJI app? From memory if you press and hold the button on the rear of the drone (at least I think that step is necessary, I haven't done it for a while) until it beeps multiple times, then the wireless on your phone should be able to see the Mavic's SSD and you can connect to it using the password on the label on the side of the drone...if that doesn't work you might have other problems.

So I've tried something out. The wifi doesn't pop up after 2 beeps, but it does after 3.
I've tried flying the drone with just my phone, and the 2.4Ghz connection stays (fairly) stable.
Especially compared to the 5.8Ghz connection (which is weird, since I'm in CE area and most wifi systems at home are on the 2,4Ghz frequency or so I thought).
I did a couple of test runs (on 5,8Ghz), and I was far from happy.
Winds were fairly hard but here's what happend:

It went back to my house, and the connection re-established itself.
I'm far from happy with this, can anyone tell me what might cause the problem?
PS (edit); According to UAV forecast, the wind conditions were good to fly in:
10m: speed 15km/h, rushes of 19km/h
50m speed 22km/h, rushes 30km/h
