Mavic Deliveries - UK

Given DJI often go for 6 month refresh cycles - April is when the Mavic Pro 2 would be announced - around the time some of the later pre-orders are finished!

On the plus side there'd be a mass sale on eBay of bargain Mavic 1's while every one pre-orders the Mavic 2!
Exactly, the P4 was only out for 8 months before they announced the P4P so the next mavic version in theory wont be far behind. The kickback you get by saying that on these forums though is harsh lol. some folk just dont get it. in the first couple of months the mavic "prototype" would have been worth paying top whack for flying the brand new tech on the market... at 6 months old forget it, it will soon be the dumb, dangerous sibling of the v2 that DJI want to forget all about! ;)

Email from Heliguy yesterday (14t Dec 2016)

We apologise for the continued delays in stock and the frustration this has caused.

There hasn’t been any solid information from DJI about shipments and, while we are receiving small batches of units which are being sent out to people at the top of our list, we acknowledge that it will be early 2017 by the time the majority of pre-orders are fulfilled.

They then went on to offer to switch to the P4P

Just more confirmation that DJI appear to be favouring the big chains rather then the smaller specialist retailers - which is a shame.

Still, maybe, if all 80 of the people in front of my pre-order at Helliguy swap over to the Phantom, I might jet get mine this year :-) - Hmmm, I think not. Anybody ordering a Mavic over a P4 was ordering because they wanted the portability of the Mavic (myself included).

Oh well, the good flying weather isn't here for 3 months anyway...still would have been nice to practice over the holidays :(

Looking back through his previous posts I think his order was 6th Oct.

Mine was 27th Oct. Its impossible to know when mine - and shortly after - yours will arrive. We'd need to know how many orders are before us and how many Amazon are getting each week.

I doubt Amazon will tell you that but if you do find out let me know!

I'm going on holiday at Easter so would dearly love to have mine by then. Well ideally 2 weeks before so I can figure out how to use it first.

I have absolutely no idea if that's going to happen!
We could be getting closer. I ordered Fly more package from Amazon on 19th and today a pending transaction for £1249 appeared on my credit card account. Nothing showing on my Amazon account yet though.

That's definitely a good sign! Amazon will do a "has his account got enough cash" authorisation before actually processing the order.

Fingers crossed - you could be a few days away from a new Mavic!

I ordered 26th Oct from Amazon

wow, fingers crossed for you mate but i'd be pissed if very did ship yours, I ordered from them on the 15th October and not heard sweet FA from them since. Just automatic date slippages and nothing else :( If they hit me with another slippage post January then i'm pulling the plug full stop and waiting for whatever itteration comes next. Hopefully someone other than DJI will step up to the mark, show that crappy company how to do it right.
Screen Shot 2016-12-15 at 18.01.22.png My account on the Very website has now changed from "Ordered" to "Despatched". So perhaps things really are moving. The Yodel tracking number that I was given on 15th November still shows nothing.
Has anyone else who has an order with Very and had the payment taken?

Just got very excited there, but mine still says Order Placed, although I have the fly less package, Mavic Only with a spare battery.

Ordered 25th October, 10:25.

Asked where I was in the queue with Amazon, here is their reply - astounding...

Dear Xxxxxxxx.

Thank you for contacting Amazon.

From your email, I can understand that you want to know when the item will be available and now worried about this.

I have checked that item is Currently unavailable and When an item is listed as "Currently unavailable" Order now and we will deliver when available" this indicates that the item ordered is a little more difficult to source from our suppliers, so we can’t predict how long it’ll take to arrive. After you place your order, we'll do everything we can to get the item for you.

While we aim to display the most accurate product availability details on our website as possible, occasionally products do go out of stock. Unfortunately we can't provide a specific date as to when we expect this item to be in stock but rest assured we’re trying our best to obtain more stock to fulfil your order.

Further, sometimes unexpected fluctuations in supply can add time to our original availability estimaten and make it out of stock.

We are facing problem in getting the supply from the suppliers that is why it has not been dispatched yet.

I can understand that we should have informed you regarding this while placing the order and we are sorry for this.

Further in this situation, I would humbly request you to please cancel this as it wont get dispatched soon. I am sorry to asking you for this but do not want to give any false assurance.

You can cancel an order or an individual item from an order, as long as it hasn’t entered the dispatch process, by visiting Your Account through the link at the top of any page on our website.

I've listed step by step instructions on how to cancel items or complete orders below. Please be aware that amending an order may affect the original estimated delivery date on any remaining items.

1. Visit the URL: http://www.amazon.co.uk/your-account

2. Click on "Your Orders"

3. Select the open order that you wish to modify and then click "Cancel Item"

4. Then select the check box next to any items that you wish to cancel and click on "Cancel checked items".

Once this has been done, your item/order is cancelled, and you’ll get an e-mail confirming the cancellation. Cancelled orders won’t appear in your order history.

Complete information on cancelling an order, and your statutory rights, can be found on our Help Pages:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html/?nodeId=201168530

If we can be further assistance to you, please let us know by reply to this email. We'll be happy to help you with every possibilities.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this regard. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Ordered 16th October. So much for the price promise, if the price goes up they just don't fulfil and get you to cancel. Pissed doesn't cover it.

Order was fly more, and received this email today in response to one I sent them yesterday.

That's just a bog standard Amazon answer - pretty meaningless. The call centre people won't have a clue.

Someone who ordered on the 19th has had a pre-auth on their card - have you not had something similar?

I ordered 3rd October from CVP, nada. Spoke to them last week and they said they have had about 12 units in since the launch date. 12. Im off travelling for 6 months on jan 5th , California to Mexico to Nepal would be sweet to fly in Nepal. Cant see it arriving

12 - gees that's embarrassing but a familiar story - quite a lot of dealers getting similar numbers.

Back in early November DJI claimed they would complete all pre-orders before November by Christmas - I guess that's not going to happen.
I've never known a product come out so slowly. The first month I can understand but you'd think by now production would be at full pelt.

If Drones Direct don't deliver by Christmas, I'm getting a refund. Was planning to spend my couple of weeks off getting to know the Mavic :-(

I'll wait for Mavic II which cant be that far away and hopefully DJI will have sorted their distribution and production issues before then.

My plan also. No drone for Christmas = cancellation and a Mavic 2 next year sometimes and I'll quite happily keep flying my old P2Z

Found this info about WEX Photographic Mavic deliveries on Reddit:

I've just received this from Wex Photographic:

We do appreciate how frustrating this is for customer's and we would love to be able to give more precise information.

For commercial purposes we are unable to advise how many back orders we have in place but we do have orders dating back to the beginning of October, so we can say with confidence that your own order is highly unlikely to arrive for quite some weeks yet, and late Feb/March is probably a realistic expectation at this time, but even this may prove to be optimistic depending on the suppliers output.

We hope that manufacture and supply can be greatly increased so that orders are being supplied much faster than they are currently but we can only advise on the current information we have. The last thing we want to do is give false hope or make promises that we can't keep.

I am sorry that we are unable to give more information.

It seems DJI for whatever reason are simply not producing that many Mavics. And production has not ramped up significantly since November and there appears to be little sign of it doing so.

Only GoPro managed a worse product launch!

Mavics are like ghosts - lots of people claim to have seen them but when you try and spot one yourself they are nowhere to be seen!

I wonder if DJI are prioritising their own orders and only shipping very small amounts to dealers. Makes sense really as they take the money up front.

I ordered a fly more from Amazon (sold by) on 24th Oct and it shipped last night for delivery today. Hope all the boxes turn up and I don't end up with just a couple of batteries and a bag.
I also have one on order from Drones Direct placed on 7th Oct which still says awaiting stock.

I can't figure out Amazon - there's people on this board order on the 16th Oct still waiting. And people who ordered a week or two later are getting theirs.

Same order ( Combo )
