Mavic Pro Battery Mod

Test a 3600 mAh battery. Flew 480 ft POI At 240 feet, 20 mph for 34 minutes landed at 2%. The DJI Battery was off at time of landing. May attempt a long distance flight with two with these batteries in the future.

That is really good! Never saw these batteries before. The power density is higher than the multistar lihv 4000 batteries. May have to get a couple.

What was the voltage on externals after flight?

Could you post up the voltage discharge curve for that flight?

This is what battery readed on my charger after the flight

DJI battery plus TP4500HV. After sitting, the TP pack showed 3.79 3.80 3.79. DJI battery was off on landing.

That is very good! Shows low internal resistance. I'm surprised the cells went that low. This means you're getting all the energy from those external cells.

I was in RTH so I’m not sure, I had full control of the bird the whole time though and was able to control the landing. I received a critical voltage warning at 3%.

@CyberNate, yes charged to 4.3 5V. Battery meter showed all three cells that 4.34v when they came off of charge.

bought these batteries a while ago, but they don’t have too much wear on them. They were originally purchased to use on one of my RC trucks I converted from nitro to electric/brushless. That the reason for the high discharge rate.

SkyNinja -you dont have the battery set to non-dji do ya?

I modded my new Mavic, recorded it and tried to put together a how-to for some newer folks who wanna get into this. You guys can't bust my balls on the soldering too hard when i post it :)

glad to see dirtybum is flying again, some great talks about batteries. I got a pair of zippy 2200 lipo's and then a pair of bolt lihv 2400 batteries. Need the rain to stop and i can do some testing! Looking for 30 min+ and I'll be happy.

DJI battery plus TP4500HV and TP3500HV, hover only, 20c air temps, 1210g AUW. It wanted to land just before 40min, but I kept it in the air a little longer.

Yep that's autoland. Looks like it? My bird refuses it, and I have no idea why.

@digdat0, I have it set to non-DJI battery and LED warning only

@Lightspeed, both of my critical landing perimeters speeds are set to 0. The bird will say critical landing but doesn’t land.

@lolo780, ok i’ll go in to assistant and see if I can find the discharge rate after the DJI battery shut off.

These proteck graphenes look promising! who cares what the c rating is as long as it doesnt increase the weight too much, and these are really lightweight. The low resistance is a boast from the company and also looks promising. Thanks ninja!
