Well this is making me sad and although I just knew him from his post here it hurts that he departed. He did so much for this hobby I will always remember him.
I came around to the board always looking forward to reading his posts where he push it to the limit, always got a laugh when I saw him going through another Mavic the guy burn through them like wild fire.
He will be missed at 49 is way too soon to go, anyone know what happen?

Today I has my first testflight with my first ever done battery mod


I has use 2 Batterys of this type (330g each, 3300mAh):


System weight total 1600g:


Now I have some questions...

Flight time (hover):
without with Batt.
75% 6min 8min
50% 12min 16min
25% 18min 25min
15% 20min 28min
Autoland: 22min 31min

RPM without Batterys: 550 RPM
With Batterys: 740 RPM
Motors are pretty hot after flight...

All the time pops the message up: RPM limit
What you guys think about it? Smaller batterys maybe?

At that weight u have to keep moving. I have did runs at 1630g as long as you stay moving but will not hover long at that weight . My best results have came at about 1500g to 1480g total weight. And it does better when the wind under 10mph as far as warnings . I do a single battery on bottom of my drone i made the limit with this setup.

I don't want to loose the sensors underneath the drone... You don't miss them? Once they rescue my drone (prevent automatic landing in unreachable canyon after signal and GPS loss...).

I would think so but have not tested myself

I've used those in 3s form on the Mavic 1 with good results. The 4500 is better for Wh/Kg.

I'm about to jump in and I thank you guys for your hard work.

After all my experience with protek (7 batteries 3600 and 4100 3s lihv) and hyperion g8, I am pretty sure I'll find that the g8 lihv 5200mah battery that weighs 428g (I strip 5g off of that) will put out more mah than the protek 5600mah.

Ok the hyperion g8 5200mah was a little too heavy and it wanted to land as soon as I started ascending. I think less weight is ideal? It is 428g plus the 3x xt60 battery clip. Going to try a 368g 4400mah next.
I could hear this thing screaming in protest 1200ft away when its normally too quiet to notice at 250ft.

I'm worried that some day I'll have a disconnect and in that second that it hovers in place before RTH it will autoland instead
