Mid air restart

However, i do wonder if a drone , any drone will auto rotate and slow its fall
I believe the short answer is NO, I think that requires variable pitch blades.
My Phantoms props were however driven backwards? in its freefall

It would require, at least, an auto rotation clutch which essentially disconnects the props from the motors When rotating in a certain direction.

Because the props are hard connected to the motors, with the motors off there’s too much resistance from the motors for the airflow through the props to turn them and generate enough lift to do anything.

Is it possible to restart the Mavic Air 2 in the air, if you do an emergency stop at 400 feet, and let it free fall 200 feet, can you restart the propellers? I've seen that this is possible with the Mavic Pro, but I don't know if this is the case with the Air 2.
yes, Ive done it. I was hit what looked to be an eagle it probably mistuck me for a bird. The drone fell for a while and I just saw sky, the props probably stopped , I realised this and as last resort did a restart it balanced itself and I flew back with the camera pointing the wrong way, but later with a restart of app and drone all ok just a chink out of one prop....
