Modes

Think of these as 3 modes of speed settings. C, P, S in ascending order of speed. Lower the speed, smoother the shot. Faster the speed, better chances of fighting wind resistance, beyond the obvious time saving.

I get the cinematic and sport mode

Why use position mode?
it is just the normal mode for flying with a GPS lock and is used mostly getting from one point to another for photos,C is for smoother video and sport is what it says

it was just confusing they calling it position mode for medium speed. sounds like your missing stuff if you use the other 2 modes
@calltrex

the term comes from position hold which is what the GPS function does it enables the drone to stay still in the air when the sticks are released, ATTI mode is short for altitude hold and keeps the drone at a set height above the ground using sensors under the drone ,but if no stick input is applied it will just drift with the wind,the sensors only work up to a certain height then a barometer take over and keeps it aloft and thats why in windy conditions the drone can sometimes gain and lose height due to changes in the air pressure

Ok so you have to use position mode if you want it to stay in place if theres some wind or whatever

on the MM whichever mode you are in the GPS is active, it will only go into ATTI mode if you lose GPS lock such as inside or under structures, then when you release the sticks it will continue to move in the direction it was going till you apply some opposite stick to bring it to a stop thats why they supply prop guards in the combo to help it prevent causing damage when there is no GPS lock

Just to add, the downward position sensors would also need to be unavailable.
