I was planning a flight using Airmap because I live near OCF in Ocala. When I finish entering the information required and choose the Mavic Mini, the request was denied. I tried again with my Mavic 2 Pro and was approved. I flight a lot in the Class C area because I can take off in the back of my apartment. So far, every request below 300ft were approved. Is the Mavic Mini allow to fly without authorization? By the way, my Mavic Mini has retractable landing gear that puts over the 249gms. I'm trying to follow the rules in benefit of every hobbyist. Any thoughts?

The Mavic Mini needs authorization just like any other aircraft. The only 'benefit' to the drone being under 250 grams is that you aren't required to register it in the US if you are not flying it for commercial purposes. If you've modified it to be over 250g, then you should probably pay the $5 to stay legal there too.
