Just watched some YouTube videos on the new DJI Smart Controller. It looks very cool. It's going to be officially announced at the 2019 CES.
I'm not sure if I can justify spending $650 on one right now. I use the iPad Mini 4 for a display. Basically this would mean trading down to a smaller, 5.5 inch screen, but getting over TWICE the brightness (1000 nits vs. 450 nits).
Also, of course, you'd have the added advantage of having a 1-piece controller/display setup, rather than carrying the controller, and cable, and iPad (and mounting bracket if you use a larger iPad or tablet).
Being able to fly in direct sunlight and still see the screen well would be great, but I don't know if I can justify sinking another $650 into this hobby.
Edit: I don't think my wife will let me justify spending another $650 on this hobby. Our income is not quite that discretionary.
Who here is planning to get one right away?
PS - It works on Occusync 2.0, so as of right now, it can only be used on the Mavic 2 and other drones that use Occusync 2.0.
