New iPad and old DJO GO4 software??

Like many of you do, I don't upgrade my software. Still flying with 400 firmware, and using DJI G04 on my iPad. Ignoring all upgrade warnings..... So far so good.

But, suppose over a year my Ipad wil fail or get stolen, I have to start with a new one.

Question: Do I get problems when downloading the latest DJI GO 4 software? Do I have to upgrade my Mavic to? Is there a save way to "backup" my old steady environment? What are your thoughts about this issue...
Or do I see ghosts and problems that don't exist.

Back up the old version of the app to iTunes on your computer, then restore that to a new iPad rather than downloading the new version of the app.

I'm told that Apple doest allow backing up Apps From IOS 9 and newer. I never use ITunes, but now I will try.
