Got the notification that there is a firmware update for my Mavic 4 Pro. I'm currently on 01.00.0300 so I'm guessing this was just released today. It just asks me if I want to update, but doesn't tell me whats changed. Where could I find a changelog? Thanks

My Dronetag RIDER detected a 64GB Mavic 4 Pro where the pilot's location was missing on two different days. Likely flying with the RC 2, given the 64GB version. Not sure how it is broadcasting RID but suppressing the pilot's location!
Exactly what I want!

Is there perhaps a hack or workaround for the RC 2 or a loophole where it is not working as designed, that is now being patched?

Anyone have any ideas as to how this could happen that the pilot's location isn't
broadcast, only the drone?

This is something I would be interested myself! I have the M4P fly-more-combo, that came with RC 2, Korean model, and I did a research specifically if it is indeed broadcasting RID, it does, but if there is a way, a hack, how to suppress pilot's location, I would be more than happy to try it out! Let me know if you find anything regarding this!

I'm going to follow up with Dronetag and see what they have to say about my $1200 "defective" RIDER that isn't displaying the pilot's location from a 64GB Mavic 4 Pro! LOL! Maybe they can shed some light on how this could happen, or be made to happen.

I thought this happened with the RC-N1/2 paired with a device like the iPad Mini that doesn’t have GPS.

Except that the RID check is supposed to fail and prevent arming the motors if your attached device has no GPS. However, you bring up an interesting point. There is no current RC-N3 compatibility with the Mavic 4 Pro, because the only options are the RC 2 or the RC Pro 2, both of which have internal GPS.

I know there was a claim in a YT video by Paul Aitken of Drone U

that turning off GPS on the RC Plus would conceal the relocated pilot's location after launch, but there was no way to do so on the RC Pro and the issue has never been been fully clarified. RID would still show the pilot's location as the launch location by default from the drone GPS. So, this is different. No pilot location shown at all.

Anyone with an RC 2 able to replicate concealing the pilot location on an Android drone scanning app?

I have an RC 2 but am unable to find any setting to turn off GPS.
I have also not installed the update originally mentioned, but can confirm that Mav4Pro (original 01.00.0300) + RC 2 (Fly v1.18.2) broadcasts pilot location via remote ID as picked up by the Drone Scanner android app.

The ops initial question was about a new update. There is another post discussing this. It was stated that it was for the DJI Fly App on the Mini 4 Pro.
Can you link the thread, I can't find it?
Would they list an update for the DJI Fly App right next to the aircraft firmware version number? (see pic above)

I would have to go find it. It was a YouTube video I just happened to run across this morning. Leaving now to go to work. Try doing a search on YouTube. Good Luck, Sorry, just don't have time now.
