Quick question guys, I was flying at the very outermost edge of a GEO nfz yesterday (blue, stadium). Plan was to take off 20m outside the boundary and fly away. All went to plan but on returning home after flight, the mp2 would not return to the exact spot and I had to move an additional 10m to meet it. It seemed to run into a buffer zone around the marked zone by approx 30m. Do various nfzs categories have buffers beyond the shapes shown in the app map?

A lot of factors affect the accuracy of GPS positioning. Commercial satellite accuracy can be affected by any obstruction, satellite positioning, number of satellites available and atmospheric conditions, as well as your receiver. I know the expectations of commercial satellite GPS is very high, but the NFZ "shadow" could have shifted slightly. I'd almost bet that 180 degrees away from you, the NFZ was an approximate equivalent changed as well. I worked for a surveillance company several years ago, US Military satellites are a different breed than commercial, and can pinpoint almost pixel accuracy. Quite amazing.
