No Connection with DJI 4 App

Had my Mavic-Pro for a year, trouble free flying from Alberta BC to St.Lucia W.I. , update App, AC and RC as required.
Now... It will no longer find the controller, no matter what web fixes I find, nothing. Just "Disconnected" and I cannot connect any longer which of course means I cannot adjust my defaults, so I can fly in beginner mode only...which sucks because I just bought a new VR Race edition head set. DoH!

I'm lost.

Is the remote control connected or not? If you are flying in beginner mode, it must be connected.
Do you mean that the Phone and dji go4 is disconnected? That is a different thing.
Make sure you are using a good cable between the remote and the phone. Make sure you have ONLY ONE of the usb ports on the remote used. if you are using the full sized bottom USB, pull the plug out of the side mini USB all together.
