Welcome to the forum, not much to add to all the good advice you are getting, just have fun with that thing!

Here is a pic of my landing pad.. just something bold for the bird to recognize. Just something to give you an idea what we are talking about.

Very nice! I like the handle for easy carrying. I am busy creating a nice landing pad. Regretfully the old plastic surface is all powdery and paint or tape will not last long. So plan B is to make a little fitted sheet with a contrasting colour sewn on. (I also plan on incorporating a carry handle on my landing pad)

Make sure the sheet is weighted or tacked down to the surface.

The prop wash at the time of launch could ruffle the sheet and possibly get caught in the props.


Some of the landing pads that can be purchased come with stakes to secure it to the ground.

I recently purchased this mat that folds up and stores easily.


I usually hand launch / land my drones, but the landing pad is nice to have just in case.
