My first attempt with mavic zoom

Kati Thanda – Lake Eyre, outback South Australia.
Australia's lowest point, -7m ASL at the shoreline, and at the lakes bed -15m ASL.

The lake area is approx 9500 square km (3670 square miles).
It rarely fills with water, maybe once a decade, but is about 60% capacity now.
Water in the lake now came from floods in the massive catchment areas to the north of Australia that happened in our summer 8 months ago.

This part of Australia was once covered by sea in the Cretaceous period (144 to 65 million years ago) a great inland sea covered nearly 1/3 of the country, brimming with sea life.

Perhaps not my best but I had to fly over a mile from one side of a waterway in high winds to capture this shot. I was getting nervous because it was so far so I didnt get as close as I wouldve liked. This pic is actually pretty heavily cropped and still prints out nice to 13x19. I think shows you can do a lot with 12 mega pixels.View attachment 18671

That’s some serious over engineering for a communications tower......

You can’t launch closer? Would likely make a great subject for an orbit.
