Good morning all,
I just purchased my first drone. I have wanted one for at least 5 years, but would not pull the trigger.
I received my Mavic Air 2 two weeks ago. Unboxed it, charged the batteries and fired it up without props in my home. Just to make sure everything was working well.
I have not flown it yet. Mainly due to work hours, but also spending too much time looking at Youtube videos and reading the positives and the negatives on this site.

I have a question. Has anybody prepared a preflight checklist for the Mavic 2 Air? If so would they share it?

I have noticed that with many of the problems users have with their drones are because they rushed to get the drone in the air. Issues like GPS and or Gyro not calibrated, taking off before GPS lock is made and the return to home is 200' away from the launch point, batteries not fully charged...

I would just like to have a check list to cover all of the basics, so I don't loose the drone due to a stupid user error. But I feel like I am too new to drone flight to make a comprehensive preflight checklist on my own.
If anyone has one I would greatly appreciate a copy of it.

Welcome to you from the wide-open spaces of Texas!

The MA2 is a fabulous machine for the beginner and the pro alike.

Lots of fellow Carolinians, and over 100,000 others of us from around the world are here to help you gain skill as a pilot and photographer. The links on MSinger's post will get you started with checklists and idiot-proofing.

Be sure to read the manual, and practice using the “Find My Drone” App. Chances are you will crash and perhaps lose your MA2. Just be sure you know how to retrieve it!

Glad to have you with us!

Welcome to the forum from Chicago the Windy City. I down loaded a drone flight check list app. Use it all the time, it has #1. Preflight Check list (at base) #2. Preflight Check list (in the field) #3. Takeoff procedure #4. After takeoff procedure. #5. After landing checklist. #6. Emergency procedure.
Do a search for (Drone Flight Check List), I could not find the Check list that I have. But I am sure other pilots here can help you out. Great to hear a newbie wanting that information. Great way to fly safe, and understand your bird. Have Fun.
