It’s real enough, this is a screenshot from a satellite view. Imagine translating that design into a real three-dimensional concrete structure. Impressive.

They are building this freak in Florida 200 and I95. Supposed to help where a main arterial road meets an interstate. Called a

Diverging Diamond.​

These kind of junctions are fairly common in UK/Europe, with a main road at a different height to a roundabout (sometimes called a rotary or traffic circle). The beauty of these kinds of junction is you never have to wait for a red light.

I like roundabouts .... they are great except for two things:

1. They work fine up to a certain volume of traffic, but beyond that critical point they don't work at all.

2. Here in the U.S. most people don't know how to use them.

All road systems lock up with enough traffic. Roundabouts are better at handling large volumes than any other kind of junction.
