No, it was what my bank charges for international transfer fees. Cogito said they sold through Amazon. I asked , Why don't you have batteries available through Amazon? They said maybe June.

This is what they said. No invoice. No PayPal or other options. Sorry, if you are going to sell internationally, you have to be set up. Not buying from eBay for goodness sake. This sounds like buying from somebody's garage.

Thank for sharing the correspondence. With no other way to pay, I'd find a more internationally friendly local bank to handle this small transaction for you. Surely, not every bank charges $60 for an international transfer fee. You could also have just waited until June to order more batteries from Amazon, or you can still rebuy the Spectra drone from Amazon when spare batteries are also available from Amazon.

Any reason to not just buy the DJI Air 3 instead, since the Specta is just a licensed copy manufactured in HK? Was it just the configuration of their Specta Combo package that appealed to you?

I was trying to get a backup for the so-called ban. Florida being one state. But I was thinking about the negative. Sorry. So, back to DJI. I know they missed me. Haha. Love the new Air 3, especially the 70mm. Used it on my first roof inspection with this drone.

Stefanik & Rubio have already made statements that attempts by DJI to bypass the proposed sanctions will not work.

The wording of the sanctions calls out radio and camera equipment made by DJI. The Specta is a hardware clone of the Air 3 and appears to use rebranded versions of the DJI software. They tweaked the firmware so that you can't share batteries, but under the hood it's the same hardware. Based on Stefanik & Rubio, the FCC ban would either apply to Cognito (and Anzu Robotics) for using DJI parts or they would just add them to the "Covered List". At that point, DJI would probably just pull the plug on Cognito because it would just be an unnecessary expense.

If you want to get a backup drone, I would get another DJI Air 3. You'll be able to share batteries with your existing drone.

Specta is made in Malaysia. You all heard by now,DJI will be banned from the United States in a few weeks. The bill for that has been signed.
They opened a place in Malaysia to build drones that are not made in China.
My thoughts that that is a way for DJI to get around that very expensive American problem

The drone ban bill has NOT been signed yet, as of today August 17th. Congress passed a drone ban bill, but no drone bill has passed the Senate yet, and then the President has to agree to sign it. Please don't mislead people.

I don't know what they mean by the bill has been signed. My understanding is that it passed the House Committee and will now go to the house floor. It is far from being a law although there seems to be bipartisan support for it.

You are correct. The bill has NOT been signed. The Senate hasn't voted yet on the ammendment for banning Chinese drones yet, and even if it passes, the President has to agree to sign it. Member Christen49 is giving out bad information. Misleading people.
