Sorry to belabor this tired question but...
For a composite image project I need a fairly close shot of steel beam structure of a commercial building under construction. I typically shoot only remote natural settings with nary a man made edifice in sight. And I know that steel is no friend to the compass. Roufhly how close can I safely get before the compass/navigation goes into 5 martini mode? (M2P / SC) Thanks!

My experience is that 3 meters should be quite sufficient. If you are not sure, check with a magnetic compass.
