Take Off Tactics

Most of you will know that the grass doesn't need to be too long before it can cause problems at take off because the props catch the blades of grass.

The solution is to take off away from the grass but this isn't always practical.

I'm thinking of carrying something, maybe a small bit of rolled up lino or even learning how to do hand take offs, anybody got good ideas for ways to take off from that kind of grass?

I am using Landing Pad AKA Helip Pad from PGYTECH. I bought from saychobbies.com.au but not sure if you are in AUS

Most Youtube videos say you have to hold the mavic as it tries to climb when landing on your hand. I don't bother, just hover in front of you, hold your hand flat and push the joystick down on the controller, it will climb a bit and then settle in your hand. To me this is simpler than swiping or trying to grab it. Other than that I do carry leg extensions in the bag and have a landing pad (already has some I use for photography) but don't carry that with me often now.
